He's right. Go to bed early, stay away from illegal acitivity, and sort your friends is good advice for almost everything in life.

Counting suicides in gun violence "stats" is one of those sneaky tricks of the antis.

The hard thing about avoiding domestic abusers is that they tend to hide it really well.

Far be it for me to declare that anyone really deserves to get shot and die, but your odds get a lot better when you start factoring out suicide, criminal activity, and even just not being a young person.
