It's not like he had to try hard...low security work detail. Maybe he didn't like the work...or any work which is why he was a worthless thieving sack of **** to start with.

The police said he should be considered dangerous yet there he was on a low security work detail...

I grew up about 1 mile west of the prison. We could hear the sirens when someone left the confines without permission. Best friend lived a block away, his mom would tell us stories of prisoners running down the alley behind the house. Another good friend's dad was the assistant warden, lived on prison grounds. We would go inside the security gate to visit. Remember riding our motorcycles on prison grounds, just dirt and hills, no structures, outside the wall, but inside the fence. You felt you had to be on best behavior because the guards in the towers would watch us riding around and they had Thompson's in hand!

Unless they have someone with a vehicle standing by to pick them up, they are almost always caught in a short time.
Imagine how stupid this guy feels right now ! being that it happened in Michigan City its a wonder he didnt get mugged LOL
Our crime rate was the second highest in the state, the sollution ??? send our patrol officers to sensitivity training and teach them to look the other way.
