Just being curious...but does anyone still CC a 5-shot .38 snubbie revolver anymore?

If so, what is your preferred ammo for personal defense?

    Just being curious...

Mdl. 36 Chief's Special. I've been looking for some of the Chicago/New York/FBI loads. They had a plain lead 158gr. SWC HP.

When I CC, it's either my LCR or my J-frame. I have dabbled in other brands of ammo, but I keep coming back to Remington Ultimate Defense.

Seems there's still several snubbie carriers out there...my BUG has been an older (from 1990) Taurus 85 that handles 158 grain Hornady XTP's and will out-penetrate all those short-barreled 9mm's of today.
I've always been more of a revolver guy and many of the better hiking / home / hunting / personal-defense calibers only come in revolvers.

S&W Model 36. Speer Gold Dot 135. Galco Royal Guard. 1 HKS Speedloader. When maximum reliability and case retention are important.

IÂ’m not sure why anyone would given the size to capacity ratio of semi autos.

Reliability. Case retention. WonÂ’t go out of battery on the surface. Better club/tool than plastic bug. More ammo choices not affecting shoot ability. Fashionable. Ability driven. Easier to charge. Double strikeable. Action choice control. I am sure I am leaving something out.

Back in the day, (BG) before Glock, a lot of folks did, I have given my Mdl 60 Smith, and my Mdl 36, to my daughters, and my MCSD Mdl 66 snub to my son.
I wish I still had my Mdl 37, or Colt Commando airweights.
    The only revolver I have now is a 6" Mdl 629 .44.

My 3rd or 4th option (but still in the rotation sometimes) is a Detective Special. In a totally counterculture way, it just has regular ball range ammo. :)
