I have heard that I can not open carry my hand gun on a boat in Indiana, is this true? I open carry 99 percent of the time and I would not feel comfortable on some lakes not having it on my side.

    Thanks in advance

I spoke to the ACOE people at a boat show earlier in the year and they said they are working to change that, so in the near future you can expect
carrying on ACOE property to be ok.

    Could be anywhere
I think if you are on a boat you probably should have have a long arm not a side arm to repel boarders...maybe even a few cannon.

These are army corp of engineer controlled lakes in indiana.

You cannot carry on them. Period.

Any other lake in indiana you can just fine. -edit- IF you have your ltch that is.

Of course. I am not a lawyer. Use my advice at your own risk.

    Well, Kirk is a lawyer.

So Kirk, without speaking in code, can a legal CCW permit holder carry on, say, Lake Monroe? I mean on the lake itself. Not on the property at the dam, but in your boat, floating, untethered to state or personal property?

Well the first thing he'll tell you is that IN doesn't have a "CCW Permit"

Next he'll address his new profession. He used to be a lawyer and (Kelly goes to Urban Dictionary) whoa! It is in there!!

I'm getting the idea that nobody really knows the answer to this.

I'm also wondering if anyone has ever been prosecuted for carrying on a boat on an Army Corps of Engineers reservior in Indiana.

Not to over complicate, but I've rarely been on a boat that didn't have beer or alcohol. Wouldn't that also cause an issue?
