    Not really. Put the model # that is on the receiver. For example, a Rock River Arms AR receiver would be an LAR-15. Bushmaster's is XM15ES2. Each mfg has their own specific model name. Unless you were using a pre and Colt receiver, then AR-15 would be correct.

    My Colt was an LE6920 model but NFA told me to change this to AR-15. Seems NFA wants things to be simple and generic...sticking to a simple type of rifle is good enough for government work; I guess.
