Vertical fore grip on pistol with SB15 brace

I have been tossing around the idea of a pistol with a Sig SB15 brace. I have seen many pictures online of them with vertical forward grips. Doesn't this reclassify it from a pistol to an AOW?

VFG yes, but for some reason the ATF has determined an AFG is ok.

That is what I thought. A lot of pictures I've seen are vertical grips, not angled ones like Magpul AFG

From my understanding, as long as its above 26" in overall length, it is no longer a pistol and falls into generic "firearms" land, as its no longer concealable. Thus any AR15 "pistol" that has a permanent overall length of 26"+ (aka.. pistol buffer tube + lower + barrel length (usually 10.5+)) can have a vertical forearm grip...... That's only what I have gathered from (AR Pistol Picture ONLY Thread. - AR15.COM) ... Mainly the later pages....

Yup, over 26" (receiver extension + barrel or barrel + pin and weld muzzle devise) a VFG is okay......for some reason. I'll take it though

So vfg is ok if greater than 26" but still not ok to put on a stock if barrel is under 16".

Pistols can be either a pistol, firearm, or AOW
