Flow through cans have their own set of trade offs. Most apparent is the fireball they shoot out of the end after they heat up unless using a reduced flash powder such as in m855a1.

Everything is a trade off. Have to pick which set of features is most important.

I'm hitting the BS button on that one. I personally have never seen any "fireballs" coming out of the end on either of mine. Granted, I am not running full-auto. Are you?
Even in the SOCOM testing, the flames out of the end of the OSS were no worse (looks like less to me) that the incumbent baffle can:

    Same video...more relavent timing:

I most recently have seen the Rugged Razor 7.62 suppressor. It's rated for up to 300 Remington ultra mag, and is also belt fed rated. To top it off, it's only about $560. I am considering getting one myself.

That photo of the mag looks good Ggreen! Only thing I've seem perform similarly are pistol rifles. We need to do another INGO shoot soon, I'd like to try some OSS stuff out again, I've only shot one of their cans on one occasion and they were louder than the traditional baffled cans we had around. With a tuned rifle that I only shoot suppressed a bit more back pressure for the trade off of flash and sound I'll take it. I just want to give them a second try because I currently am not a fan. I can't see ever using one at night at the very least.

Tim covers this very well in several videos. Here's one:

You only need to watch the first four minutes of this to get what he is saying. (Quieter at the ear...not the muzzle.)

He and Randy from OSS did an extensive 2 part video explaining this:

I get the quieter at the ear than the muzzle as well as the reason, that's why I want to try them again. Just didn't get that when I used one. Obviously I didn't meter it but still. I've watched the MAC video and wanted to get behind one again ever since.

To echo everyone else, buy a good 30 cal can (Dead Air, Silencerco, etc). I have an old AAC M4-2000. In its day it was king. Now itís finish is burned off and it looks terrible. Still sounds great. Good components wear well. Cheap stuff falls apart. No reason to buy a 556 can today. Buy once cry once.

If you go with a .30 cal can you can fit it to all your other guns that you have .I bought a 6.5 Thunderbeast and wished I went with a .30 cal can.now if I want to suppres a .30 I have to buy another can.
