What are people using for a handguard over a suppressor for a 9mm AR or 9mm AR pistol?

It seems like if you use a larger inner diameter handguard, that it wouldn't fit flush or correctly against the lower receiver. Does the barrel nut need to be changed out as well to match the handguard?

I researched this several years ago and achieved success using a Seekins 1913 free float rail, but it looks like it is now discontinued. It used the same replacement barrel nut as their current MCSRV2 free float rail that are MLOK. That barrel nut is drilled in multiple locations for a gas tube depending on where it tightens down, although no gas tube to worry about on a 9mm AR of course. But it still had to be positioned very precisely because of two small wings on each side of the top rail that fit down each side where it mated with the front of the upper receiver. Shims were included, but some variant of Murphy's Law often means its too loose with one less shim, and excessive torque required to align it exactly if another shim is added. The top 1913 rail on the Seekins rail did line up perfectly with the Colt 9mm upper receiver with a finish match close enough you can barely tell it is two pieces. No problem clearing a 1-3/8" diameter suppressor back inside the rail using a 3 lug mount, thread-on would work just as well. If you do go MLOK through preference or the only thing available, keep in mind for clearance you need to consider any mounting hardware that intrudes through the rail.
