What is your EDC blade? Do you carry one?

As we see more and more bob and EDC rigs as well as preparedness threads, I'd like to know. Do you feel it necessary to carry a knife when you have a sidearm? I feel the result may SUPRISE us!!

Do I feel it necessary to carry a knife when I'm packing. Yes. Because my pistol has no sharp edges and I use my knife to cut stuff.
Also, if I get in a jam, I'd rather use my knife blade to pry something than my gun. Ever tried to clean your fingernails with a gun? Kirk would not approve.

At some points in time I have as many 5 knives on me but never less than one while awake.

I always carry a Benchmade Griptilian clipped in my left pocket for most cutting tasks. In my right pocket I carry a folding box cutter for most small work. I keep a Leatherman Squirt on my keychain for very small work. And I normally have a Spyderco Streetbeat on my belt. When in the woods I will have a Larger knife or machete on me too.

On an everyday basis I'm at work, so a Kershaw Cryo is clipped to my pocket. But I've got a fixed blade Spartan I wear if I'm out and about.

I had to check everything but the bacon sandwich! Depends on where I'm at on my EDC rotation. ZT 0350, Boker Ak-74, Kershaw Leek, ESEE Izula, Lion Steel SR1A, Spyderco Para 2, ZT 0770. Sometimes a combo of above mentioned!

When at work I carry a Stanley knife in the right hand leg pocket of my work pants. When at church I carry a small cheapo folder that I am able to tuck into a seam loop on the inside of my dress pants so the clip isn't showing.

I've recently started carrying a medium size knife everywhere, as long as I remember to grab it. For me it's clipped on my right (strong) hand pocket of my jeans. I rotate between a Winchester folder (got it for Christmas when I was around 12), Kershaw Brawler (assisted), and a Lightning OTF. I carry it for random tasks such as box opening, cutting string, cleaning nails, digging out splinters, etc. They could all be used for self-defense but I hope I never ever have to use them that way.

It is amazing how often I find myself needing to use a knife for something in everyday life. Now I'm the go to guy whenever someone I'm with needs a knife. I just love hearing "Hey (my name), got your knife?". I'm really glad I've started carrying one.

My knife is ALWAYS with me. It's a Kershaw Tanto Blur with a half serated blade. It has held up great for as much as I have used it. It's about 3 years old. $50 at Wal-Mart.
