If you guys are tired of seeing these, by all means, let me know. I just like posting them to get some feedback and pointers. Also it helps me see and look back at what i've done thus far.
5/32" O-1, 1.5" wide. Modified the shape a bit to fit onto the narrower stock. All the previous one were made using 3/16". 4.5" angle grinder with a 1/4 cut off wheel to rough shape.
Combination of files, dremel, and a 4" belt sander to refine the shape.
One I get the blank to my liking it's time for beveling.
Here is a shot of my jig. This is the 3rd version of this I've made. Eyelet bolt us typically turned 5-8 rotations each drop in angle till I feel that I am about 80% of where I want to be. The 3 rotations for two steps, then 2 steps of one. I mark the bevel evenly across to ensure I am removing material evenly.
At this point, handle pin holes are punched and then drilled. Right now it's in the oven after being heated in my soup can forge to an even orange color, well as close to the color chart I can get and keeping it there for about 10 mins. Lots of moving and such. Then quenched in oil and held there till cool enough to be handled. Right now it's in the oven.
