When I was a kid, Dad had a matching set of a lightweight axe and hatchet. And man were they sharp! They relied more on the sharpness of the edge than the brute force of the head mass to do its work.

Both had red heads that had a straight sided blade with a curved face. (of course) the body of the blade appeared to be wrapped around the back of the handle and were riveted or bolted through the blade to form the complete head... as opposed to the cast style with a wide, smooth curved body.

I really wish I knew what happened to them. They are probably buried in his barn/workshop, but I'd need literally 2-3 40 yard roll offs to find them. So buying new is probably easier.

Does this design ring any bells? Would love to find another.
