I like that guide. Bladehq is a little hipster for my tastes but that guide has been really helpful to my learning process especially in relationship to my needs vs my "budget".

If you want a real education, I suggest you register on Usual Suspect Network. There is such a rich wealth of info there that it is scary.

I know a little about Stellite, Talonite and 6-4 ti.

Depends on what my wife catches coming in the mail.

I will check that out though. I also read the knife steel nerd stuff and lots of forum postings so I have learned everywhere.

Nothing overly high but if the price is right for a quality kitchen knife, then ya, I'll get it.
