Well, it's run with the big dogs for two weeks now. The saw actually works for me as well.

When the rest get here (I brought two home, one for evaluation and one for pictures, and the rest are shipping) I figure on selling them. I don't need 'em all.

I'm surprised that you think it's more durable than your Master Hunter, unless you're referring to the rubber handle on the MH. The actual blade of the Master Hunter (assuming it's Carbon V) is stout.

In any case, if you can sharpen it, it's almost assuredly steel. "Pot metal" is a term for a variety of zinc alloys that typically cast into shape. A lot of crappy guns have been made from pot metal, but a knife made of the same would sharpen effectively.

    Rhino,

I'm referring to the fact that it will flex and spring back into shape, rather than break.

Cool looking knife, I noticed you were selling them over at the hipoint forums, if you were closer to Indy i would meet up with your for a FTF deal.

I have been looking around for a knife similar to this to keep in my pack for hiking.

Josh, if you like the style, you might want to check out a friend of mine Jeremy Horton who, as of this last year, goes by Horton Knives. Built like the proverbial brickhouse and, in the world of bladecraft, still affordable.

I emailed him and his response is that he sells them on bladeforums.com

IIRC he had one on there for about $245 in the "knife makers fs/t" section
