I took on this project for Churchmouse. It is a Springfield TRP Tactical in 45 that he had issues with and decided to call it a day with them and convert it to 10mm. My favorite :)

I have done several 10mm builds from scratch but I think this is the first 1911 conversion from 45 to 10mm I have done.....that I remember.

Thee was also a lot of fitting and work that I did not list here but it has been awhile and i forgot how to do good pics of a build. :) I love this gun though, its a shooter

    Before

Parts to make fit among others not shown

The new slide was easier to fit since this frame had already been in production. that was a nice surprise I only had to remove a little material from the slide to get a nice slick no rattle fit.
not much to show. but you can see original barrel was not ramped and new on is.

Next is to cut the frame for a ramped barrel

setting up in the mill, making sure it is square and finding center.

Verifying my first cut is center. Most new frames that you buy are cut to .375 in this area which works fine but I like to cut this to a closer tolerance to better match the lower barrel lug.

then the relief for the back of the barrel lug

barrel is now roughed in fit to frame

    Did some fluting just because

barrel and slide rough fit I did not take any pics of cutting the upper and lower barrel lugs :(

This is a KKM precision barrel that is setup for 40 or 10mm I needed to shorten the feedramp to make it 10mm compatible.

Time to dress the slide up

    barrel and slide mostly done

    and Cerakoted in Armors Black

Built and test fired. shoots awesome

Mercy sakes Allen, that’s a great looking gun. Some of those pics I’d have been holding my breath. Ok most of them.

Also, good to see pics from Diamond Collision that don’t include any of my vehicles

There need to be a level of rep above 10, reserved for AllenM projects. That's beautiful.

Being the minimalist that I am, a lot of custom jobs are just too over the top for my tastes. This one would be perfect for me. Enough to make it stand out but still looking like a combat weapon without a lot of extraneous nonsense added.

You have great "vision" for what a final piece of art will be like. Nice work.

I like the 3-D treatment to the slide serrations.
The Chevrons and ball cut along the top.
The relief cut along the bottom of the slide.
No roll marks except what is on the frame.

Edit.....and the rear sight is centered up.......:)

Agree with this. I like subtle and this is executed perfectly.

    Amazing work as always.

Another example of your skill and attention to detail. Love seeing your builds, even if they’re for CM.
