Some of you guys have probably shot this one. It belongs to Churchmouse.
Springfield Tactical that started out as a 45 ACP but received the 10mm treatment
Alot more goes into a 1911 build then what I showed here but her are some of the steps.
Before
Tripp Slide, KKM Bull barrel major component add on's
After fitting the barrel to the slide to the frame I had to cut the frame to accept a Ramped barrel.
Found dead center of the rails for the barrel lug cut. I also carefully measure the barrel hood in the slide so the barrel is moving straight up and down with no rocking.
Before
Verifying parallel in the mill
Finding center of frame
After cutting for ramp here are LT and RT comparison of frame rail width
First Ramp Cut
Width is narrower then the normal .375 Not totally necassary but I like to think close tolorences are nice in put in the right place
Barrel lug width in relation
Setting up for Vertical impact surface cut
VIS cut and barrel sits in frame
Cleaned up
I don't know why I did this, I just did
Cutting feed ramp to my preferred angle and length
"Braking" the edges and polishing
Time for slide dressing
Step 1
Skipped a few steps here, like some ball cuts and sight cuts
Top line chevrons
Getting there
Serrations
Once again a little carried away on the small stuff. Made the serrations harder then they needed to be...
Armors Black
.
Tada
