Heard a rumor yesterday. Seems the reason the shooter there, harmed so few was because a private citizen with a concealed weapon distracted him. Is this true? Who was he? Shouldn't we be holding him up as an example of what one brave individual can do? Funny how the media doesn't say much about this..............<><Duce

There was a story about it in Oregon media but there were no witnesses to confirm his story but his story makes since from the active shooter classes I have taken. I am involved as a firearms instructor for the FED's I was also a municipal LEO and have been trained on Active Shooting scenerios in both. This result is normal. Most active shootings last 10 min or less and at the first sign of resistance the shooter commits suicide or surrenders. That has beared out in the majority of shootings. Examples, The VA Tech shooter suicide, The AZ shooter probably would have killed himself but was tackled. The Auroa, CO theater shooter gave up the POS in CT suicide.

In my 26 year LE humble opinion you can tell the real mental jobs in these. The real ones are the ones that killed themselves. The ones that give up willingly to me says they were sane and realized/cared they were going to get killed if they didn't surrender.
