    Yes, I did a search already. :D

I've seen this stuff in person and am impressed. I'd have a couple guns I'd like to coat. They sell a spray kit on their website and it has good reviews, but I'd like real world reviews.
How did it turn out? Happy with the results? Is it pretty tough?

I had ingo member sumphead do 2 of my 1911's and they are great. He had some issues with one of them due to the metal used but after some wrestling and re-paints it is great.
If you have some paint knowledge/skills it should not be that tough but if you do not I would practice on old non-valuable guns at first.

I have some older guns that I want to test it out on first. It seems like a cool project.

I did a duracoat job on my fnp9 a few years ago. To test the product I did a knife first and found it to be durable. Prepping the surface of what you are duracoating is very important.

I carried my fnp daily for almost a year afterwards and the duracoat still looked great. I have however seen older firearms that had duracoat that looked aged. I no longer have the fnp but if you pm me your email I can send a few pictures of how it turned out.

There are a number of good videos on youtube of people using the kits and otherwise using duracoat.

Bud used kit, came out well.
He waited weeks after spraying before assembly (no chipping/scratching).

He said the spatter effect of the kit's Preval sprayer meant start spraying before you got to the part in your swing. He said that method reduced splatters, left a thin even finish, but also wasted a lot of material.

After seeing his results, I'm going to do my 1100 SP :)

A friend of mine offered to clean up and coat an old 38 for me.
I took him up on it and here is the result...

    BEFORE:

    -----------------------------

    AFTER:
    picture.php

    -------------------------

The cylinder came out a little more glossy that the rest. Different material I guess.
I'm OK with it though... it is going to be my "garage gun".

Yeah, I took the pictures with my phone, so they aren't the best quality.

I like the flat black. I wish the cylinder was the same, but it was an inexpensive gun, he did it for free & it's just going to stay in a drawer unless needed. So... no regrets.

Would I let him do it on my new S&W 327... Hell no!

Nice. Thanks for the pics. There's a local place called Kemp's that I may check out. Im thinking about having a buddy cut some vinyl for me and do some cool graphics.
