Fun fact: If a bullet is fired from an AR-15 carbine (16" barrel, 1:8" twist) with an average muzzle velocity of 2400 ft/sec, the bullet will be doing 216,000 RPM upon leaving the muzzle! This was a little problem I'd give math classes when I would substitute teach (they liked gun facts better than math!). The kids would often refuse to believe a bullet could rotate that fast.

I wonder how many tries it took to hit the bullet with another bullet?

The marvel here is not the bullet splash or the bullet rpm, the marvel is a camera that can take clear photos at that many frames per second. Zounds!

O.K. What kind of firearm fires projectiles that are pointed on both ends?
Some of those looked like giant detent pins for an AR15.

I've seen flatbase, hollow base, boat-tail, but I've never seen a pointed base bullet.
Seems like the gases would have a difficult time pushing on a point.

    What gives?

If you think that's amazing, try looking at some spy photo's from the U2, Consider they were taken a lifetime ago in technological terms, and some were taken from 85,000 feet!

    Look at the Hubble pictures.
    It's all in the lenses.
