    A lady from Spencer, IN is trying to find a 1911 that belonged to her son. He passed away and had the gun in a pawn shop. The store owner has sold the pistol.

    She would like to find whoever bought it and see if she could buy it back.

    Her son was in the military. The pistol is custom engraved with the following. "Kabul Afghanistan 1438th TC"

    I sent her a message through FB and let her know I posted the story on here. I'm not sure if she will get it or not. Some people have their settings set so that only friends can message them.

    Doesn't the pawnbroker have a record of the sale?

    From a comment on the Facebook post.
    It was at budget bobs to begin with and he sold it to a buddy then the buddy sold it at the gun show is what he told me. He won't tell me any name or give me any info at all.

    Here son was in the National Guard and lost his life in a traffic accident in May of this year. I guess she found the pawn ticket later. I'm not sure of when it was sold.

    He passed away and had the gun in a pawn shop. The store owner has sold the pistol.

    I thought it was illegal in Indiana for a pawnbroker to make a loan on a handgun.

    IC 35-47-4-2
    Loans secured by handguns
    Sec. 2. A person who makes a loan secured by a
    1) mortgage;
    (2) deposit; or
    (3) pledge;

    of a handgun commits a Class B misdemeanor.

    I think you have to be logged into Facebook to view it. I grabbed a Screenshot for those who can't see it.

    Logged in, still doesn't work for me. Thanks for posting a screen cap. Was just making sure FB didn't delete on account of there being a gun.

    I hope she's able to find it, but I'm sure it's long gone or if the person does sell it to her I'm sure there will be a "premium" by the seller due to her sentimental value with the gun.
