45acp shield has to be a handful to even attempt some sort of recoil control. Light weight gun, big recoil. Let us know how it goes at the range.

For me much more manageable than the XDS 45.. Parabellum has one on the rental and I took it for a short spin. :)

While I was at a range a few weeks ago, a magazine writer was there and he had a new Shield in 45 ACP. I was amazed to see the new pistol and got to talking with the guy. I was intrigued with the pistol and he asked if I would like to shoot it. Of course I could not pass up such an offer. Literally, it was a blast to shoot. Manageable recoil and it felt very good in my hands. I'm sure this new S&W Shield will sell like hotcakes on a Sunday morning.

took it out today only fired 2 rounds because I forgot that we were out of the foam ear plugs at the range. My ears do not like the 45 round at all. Recoil was as I expected not bad at all and less than the 40. The 2 rounds I did fire were within a half an inch from each other but lower than I thought I was aiming. I will pick up a new box of earplugs from work tomorrow and try it again on my way home from work. I shot the Mrs 9mm shield and her walther ccp as i can actually fire them with out hearing protection. Those are the only toys we took along today.

Better start saving for a hearing aid, shooting a 9mm without ear protection with any consistency will ruin your ears! Eek!

It would be better to put a couple of rounds in your ears than to fire ANYTHING without any hearing protection.
