Note that their constitution guarantees the right to own a handgun or rifle for self-defense or sport...

... but they've made it just about impossible to get one.

From the article: the response of the Mexican government when people apply for permission to carry a gun...
“It’s an obligation of the state to provide security to the people who live in the country, not for you to take justice into your own hands.”
:lol2: Yup, they're right on top of that one aren't they? Top notch job there amigos.

If it's the states obligation then they should be able to be held liable for not living up to that obligation.

    Coming to America.
Yeah, we have been hearing similar comments from the American leftists the last few years.
“It’s an obligation of the state to provide security to the people who live in the country, not for you to take justice into your own hands.”
The younger generations also seem to be able to suspend the use of any common sense in evaluating such statements. In past, we just scoffed at such nonsense.

You need to add this quote to put it in proper perspective:
Mexico has a homicide rate more than five times higher than in the U.S.

While Mexico claims to be concerned about justice, they far appear to be less concerned about defense and deterrence.

The suspension of critical thinking is a requirement for all followers of the radical left.

That is a pretty interesting read. Especially for those who say it couldn't happen here. I did not know their constitution protected their right to own firearms. Which is why the one store exists, because by law they have to have one. They have just regulated legal gun ownership out of existence.

Off to start the "If you can only own 1 handgun and 9 Rifles/Shotguns what would they be thread."

    Coming to America.
It's already starting here. They might not be able to do a total outright ban of all firearms but they certainly will do their damndest to regulate the **** out of them any way they can.
