I know I'm no genius, but what does LGBT have to do with gun control (logically)? I know gay people who are fully in favor of gun rights.

I guess this is "I'm a progressive leave logic out of this situation".

“One way we can do that is by pressuring businesses that help fuel the NRA’s blood money,” Lindsay said. “Companies should stand for their values, and if FedEx supports the lives of our children and the safety of our communities, they shouldn’t help subsidize the NRA killing industry.”

aka: "companies should stand for their values, unless they disagree with my values"

    "NRA killing industry"...:n00b:

I fail to see the logic behind this. Somehow the NRA caused the Orlando shootings?

If FedEx offers a group/company a discount, usually FedEx gets something in return (discounts for its employees, a monopoly on shipping from that group/company, etc.). Oddly enough, FedEx employees do not get a discount on NRA memberships.

“We’ve run into a basic divide here, and I think it’s based on an awful lot of political ideology,” Patton says. “The stereotype of those on the right is that they don’t like gays but they do like guns, and then there’s the opposite stereotype, that if you’re on the left you don’t like guns but you do like gays. That perspective is based on the premise that gay people should give up their right to self defense, give up their right to guns, so they can get their gay rights from the politicians who support gun control. I personally don’t like that. Why do we have to give up some rights?”

She might have just said: "...so they can get their gay rights from the politicians who support____control"

Like the article said, that "NRA blood money" position isn't unanimous. The people behind this protest are the left-wing politically-correct bigots (straight or otherwise) who equate law abiding gun owners with career criminals and psychopaths.

Better tell FEDEX employees about it.
I had a lot of problems shipping a firearm through FEDEX.
So no one ever mentioned a discount!

By the way, how do you show that you are a NRA member?
I have not received a membership card for years.
    I just receive the Magazines.

I have not received the NRA carrying bag. They advertise for joining this year.

I have gotten a card every year, and the past two years I have gotten the duffle bags.
Maybe you should call them. Are you a lifetime member?

Politics is a team sport, us against them. The radical homosexual groups are members of the the gun banning, whacko global warming, socialist left. So they have to jump on this to support their team.

I think this group (not LGBT in general...just this group) is more about 'what does the Democratic party want me to be offended by' than 'what SHOULD we be offended by and draw attention to'.

Much like many organizations....they start out with good intentions then the people in charge start sniffing for the most money/air time/etc where the money/donors come from.

On the right...the NRA is waving the 'see what he's doing now' flag in an effort to keep funds rolling in. THe left's money making just got easier. The NRAs just got harder with the election. I fully expect the NRA to make a big deal out of the most minor topics(4473 changes in the past month for instance) over the next 4 yrs in an effort to keep cash rolling in. This group is just wanting to remind people they are there and please send money.

I last got a card a few years ago when I upgraded to Benefactor (which is cool with me).

Golden Eagles and Ring of Freedom still send me a membership card every year.

I'm not an LGBT by any stretch, however I follow some very pro gun LGBT Facebook groups. Through the years they've had some pretty smart things posted (and their memes are always hilarious...). I think media does a huge disservice to this group of people by promoting the image of them as sissy's. There are a lot of pro gun, conservative LGBT people out there. I wouldn't call it a majority (I don't have a clue what the numbers say), but not as big of a minority as most think.
I realize this isn't exactly what the OP was talking about, but pretty close.

Exactly what I came here to say. We also have gay friends who are very much in favor of firearms. What do they have to do with each other?

There is a LOT of political rhetoric out there. Many times, the left are so emotionally charged, they cannot even see how insane their rants are. NRA is a lightening rod for many, many groups, and it will only get worse, this little rant by the sodomites is mild compared to what you`ll see shortly. Do not lose sight of the fact that, the Second Amendment IS the law of the land, period. We have the right to groups such as NRA, JPFO, and GOA, in which we pool resources, time, and talents to protect our Second Amendment rights. With numbers such as NRA commands, (membership is over 5 million now), there are also consumer benefits, as NRA members are entitled to a great many more discounts than just this one. Actually, pieces such as this one are great, as it showcases the intense emotional rhetoric spewed by the left, completely devoid of reasoning. I believe liberals are seriously mentally unstable people.
