    Thanks much for posting, I don't know that I have ever run across or even heard of an actual example of a 223 gun damaged by 556. I personally am much more worried about stuck firing pins, out of battery discharges, and bad reloads.

    There is a historical piece referenced in that lucky gunner article. I've been reading it off and I for a while now. It's a really cool piece on the development of the 5.56 cartridge and the M16. It's fascinating stuff.

    I'm much more paranoid about .300 Blackout rounds sneaking their way into my Sig AR. Apparently, some loads WILL fit and discharge.

    I feel like at least half of those detonations have been the result of using the the old device called the "forward assist".
