Hardchroming

Is there anyone in our state that does in-house matte hardchroming? If someone knows, please advise. I am looking to have a bolt carrier for a Benelli SBE II matte hardchromed. I've tried DuraCoat, however, it has not held up, and I'm not sure about Cerakote.

When I worked for a tool & die shop Williamson Polishing & Plating, 2080 Dr Andrew J Brown Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46202, Empire Hard Chrome, Inc., 1615 S. Kostner, Chicago, IL 60623, or Techmetals, 2200 East First Street, Dayton, OH 45403-1266 were used.

If the parts have a tight clearance, be aware that the plating increases the size of the part.

Robar in Phoenix, AZ has several finishes that are superior to hard chroming in almost every way - surface hardness, lubricity, thickness control, even (limited) color choice for some. Robar also provides a lifetime warranty on their coatings. One of my instructors at a rifle class was using a Robar PolymAR-15 rifle, and the bolt and carrier just wiped clean with a rag after hundreds of rounds. The stuff was amazing.
