Looks like it happen in the Rocky Mountain state of Colorado. If they were from Indiana it does not state that fact.

    The first sentence:

Pitkin County Landfill's enticing environment for black bears might have proved too enticing for a tandem of Indiana hunters.

Well, I hate poaching, so I'm glad they got caught. I always assumed that things like this might happen, but it's interesting to read the article.
As a whole, IN hunters are much better than this.

I like my eggs poached... on top of some Canadian bacon on a croissant or English muffin, with hollandaise sauce... Poached animals, not so much.

Several years ago---while hunting in Canada, I was told by one of the locals---The Provincial Rangers would shoot all the bears around the dumps ,and doze them under (ok for them, you get caught you would pay a heavy fine) No hunting within 100 meters of the dump...
probably different now, that was 1976

    Poachers are not hunters.

    1) Poachers are not hunters.
    2) I'm glad the poachers were caught.

    This right here.
As if it weren't galling enough that they poached the bear, they took only the hide, making no effort whatsoever to eat any of the bear, which can be done if you know how to prepare it the right way.
They'll lose their guns, lots of money, probably their truck, and maybe even a stay in the Graybar Hotel, and they deserve it all.
