Generally speaking as a member of the "gun owning public", not only are we dumb enough to blow off pieces of ourselves with tannerite, but then we all love to video our exploits and show the world why they should ban our use of it. I can't believe we can still buy the stuff. I'm thankful no one has managed to use it to intentionally hurt others, yet.

Of course I did buy 50lbs of the generic version a while back with friends as a group buy. $3.50 a pound, oh yeah. I pretty much used up my portion at this point and gotten it out of my system. All extremities intact.

Can you imagine the (deserved) sheet storm if a kid had been killed during this display? Agree with the above statements, I can't believe it's still over the counter!

This reminded me of the idiot with the lawn mower. At least this moron was behind a tree. Not sure if it was for cover or to balance his gun.

My nephew just showed me a Tannerite video he recorded last week.
    No damage, no close calls.
He put 2lbs of flour on top of 1/2 l;b of Tannerite.

    The explosion was expected.
The accompanying fireball was not just unexpected, but SPECTACULAR!
It ended up being a small mushroom cloud.

The flour dust obviously ignited and it was a sight to see.

Kids, don't try this at home...

Almost anything powdered with oxygen and an ignition source will explode. Years ago (black and white TV) there was a guy dressed up as fire cracker with a burning fuse on his head dancing around, at midnight the studio dumped flower on him to 'simulate' his blowing up and he blew up for real. OOPS.

In my high school chemistry class, the teacher placed a small amount of flour on a piece of paper and then blew it over a lit bunsen burner. Quite a nice little fireball that quickly made sense of grain and flour silo explosions.

Oh yeah.....the guy in the video is an idiot. I've forgotten how many times I got away unscathed with similar foolishness in my youth. We didn't have tannerite, but we did have easy access to black powder.:D

Grain mills have exploded in the past when the amount of dust in the air was at an explosive concentration. You don't need much energy when the flour:air mix is just right.
