So much movie sins on muzzle loader in this movie. (might as well bring up a topic about firearm since this is in the general firearms discussion instead of the break room).

@ the corner of IN, KY & OH.
I have seen the movie a couple times and it is an awesome movie.
Seems to me though, they never worried about anything getting wet considering the amount of time the characters of the movie spent in the water. Guns always went boom though. If the movie was historically accurate, then those men led a very hard life. My Dad has always said he wanted to be a mountain man, not me though.

I couldn't understand any of the conversation near the river. No one could endure the ass kicking that bear doled much less hibernate through the winter...

I walked out of the movie theater halfway through this movie. Maybe I'll try it one more time.

It was on one of the cable channels a few weeks ago and I only made it half of the way through. Other than Leo getting raped by a bear, I found it to be slow and boring.

I hate to be that guy, but go read the book! The movie made up a ton of stuff, and I thought it was pretty boring(minus the bear attack). But the book describes the attack and it's actually much worse than the movie.

The movie was meh, but the technology of how they filmed it was amazing! I have no idea how it is possible. Huge scene with people everywhere and what you see pans around 360 without cutting away. Cgi that good? Film from a drone?

The book is twice as good as the movie
Twice as good, but takes 30 hours instead of 2.
