I started reloading in 1992. Bought a Dillon 550B and have never looked back. I knew that I needed a tumbler for brass. Back then, ultrasonic cleaning of brass was unheard of.
I spent 45 hard earned dollars on a Midway Model 1292 tumbler. I have loaded thousands of rounds of pistol and rifle cartridges in that time. All the brass went through the Midway tumbler.
Last week, the motor finally froze up on the old girl. The rest of the tumbler still looks great, so this morning, I ordered a new C frame motor for $20 and plan on doing a heart transplant when it comes in next week.
The tumbler is almost the same color as the Dillon machine. (Part of the reason for buying it, right after the price. Lol)
Damn good investment for $2.20 a year. Wish more things lasted like that.
Obviously, the 550B has lasted, too. Probably be able to pass it on to my son in 20 years.
