At least it has sights. There's an action movie that I recall had a scene where the bad guys had a mix of AR/M4s, and one of them had no front sight at all. Just a rear BUIS.

    THAT guy's a pro.

That looks like it's going to hurt.
That probably explains his other injuries as well. He's probably tried a lot of different ways of lining up his sights. "Perhaps if I put my face against the gun..."
The american assassin shouldn't have much trouble with this guy. ..this guy IS one of the targets, right?

I guess research into the role isn't done anymore.

Honestly, it probably hanse bearing on how technical the movie is. I'd bet it's just an attempt to get a clear closeup of the actor, and the length of the gun. It's like movie posters with people in the "High Sabrina" pose. They want the gun and the actor. It looks better than the low ready.

At least Clint Eastwood saw to it that Bradley Cooper and the rest of the cast for "American Sniper" had rifles appropriate for what their real life counterparts used, and that they had been trained how to properly handle those rifles.

Clint Eastwood? You mean the guy who shoots .44 mag one-handed, lol?

Hey, that's easy to do when firing blanks.
FWIW, I never thought that the average .44 Magnum load was totally unmanageable one-handed, although a good two-handed (personal preference for Weaver over Isosceles) grip is always preferred for even a .22 LR for accuracy.

Actually, in one of the Dirty Harry movies, Harry explains that he reloads his own .44 Special ammo for less recoil. Back to the OP. I think this guy is just raising the gun up to his "third eye". This will attract the Hindu audience.
