I have seen a few gun shops advertising a glock release day on the 26th of August for 2 new models. I haven't heard anything, and I searched the forum but searching anything with "glock" in the phrase returns quite a bit of results.

    has anyone heard anything?

That seems like a pretty short time from gen4 to gen5. I guess only 100 dealers got selected for to do this early launch deal, and they are saying "new model" so I'm hoping for something cooler than a gen5, but I wouldn't be surprised.

It is essentially the Glock XM17\19 that was submitted for the trials. Nothing innovative or crazy special. A single stack .40 or a Carbine would have been a nice addition, instead we get special shovels or a field knife...

If it has no finger grooves, put me down for a 19. Been waiting for Glock to correct that flaw since they stopped shipping Gen 2 models.

Single stack .40 lol. Why in the hell, would they make a gun very few people would buy? People, police, feds, are dumping their FO-tays like they're a mullet. You can buy police trade in gen4 glocks in. 40 for $300, and even less for older gens.

    I'll take a trade-in G22 for $300, Alex! As long as it's a Gen3 gun, that is.

And then a conversion barrel + all the other itty bitty parts to make it a "real" G17.

I think the G19/G17 coming back out with no finger grooves and the Gen 4 rough texture will be fantastic. And like a lot of us that waited for the G43 for ages, a lot of us have also been waiting on factory finger groove less models to come back. It's more like a mid model change thanks to the Army trials I am sure. Bring it!

Yeah I thought about it but by the time you buy a conversion barrel your gonna have the same money in it as just buying the 9mm to start with. I wouldn't pay more than 250 for a .40 caliber glock. To each their own

Went through same thing when I wanted to get all the parts for converting my 23. Just went ahead and got the 19. Now have best of both worlds.
