I've heard the suggestion a few times recently that a 5th rule of gun safety should be added, namely something to the effect of, "5. Always store unused weapons where they are not accessible to unauthorized persons."

    What's INGO think?

I am disappointed. I was expecting something more like "If you're too stupid to use a gun safely, don't buy one."

Last I heard we were trying to cut it down from 4 rules to 3. Now there's talk of adding a 5th rule?

    Get it together people.

There are plenty more rules than just the "gun handling" rules. Use of proper ammo, for example. Putting a "Ruger only" load in a Charter Arms is definitely breaking a safety rule, but you'll only make it once per revolver.

How many of us learned about the safety of sufficient scope eye relief the hard way....
