I’d put it between a standard 1911 and a Glock. More squared than the single stacks but not as much as a 2x4 as a Glock. I haven’t held a 92 in awhile so I can’t compare to that one.

I think they are awesome. Especially this one.

Para still makes the P14-45. If you get one of the early, made in Canada guns, they are pretty good. I've owned two (still have one). Mags are good and cheap from CDNN or Mec-Gar. They made an alloy frame model and also a steel frame. Mine were both alloy framed.

Remington bought Para USA recently so yeah, their quality has gone downhill.

The LDA is a whole nother animal. The P14, P-13, P-12 etc. are single action guns. Back in the day, many of the top shooters were building competition guns on Para double stack frames.

    What really pisses me off.
    Jerry Mic???? inquired about them.
    They sent him one.
He commented he would like another one.
    They sent him another on.

I would like just handle one.
And if the heavens graces open up fire one.

I looked into double stack 1911s and considered a Para. Glad I passed on it and went to a STI 2011. Para quality went downhill fast and aftermarket parts went away too. The standard 2011 poly lower grip frame feels a little fatter than a standard 1911, but not by much.

I have one of the springfield hi-cap, just found it by chance around 2001 i think. New in box at plainfield shooting, used in local matchs. I liked it, understand was part of limited run

Greenwood PointBlank had one in their shop on Saturday morning. I don't recall the price or whether they have one for rent, but if all you want to do is handle one, that's where one is right now.

I picked up a P-12 from a co-worker of my wife. Her husband recently passed so I bought it to help her out and also sold a couple of his other firearms for her. The P-12 doesn't look like it's ever been shot. I'll have to try it out one of these days.

If it is an older one made in Canada you stand a chance it is a decent piece.
My son and I had matching P-12's and we ran well north of 10K through both with just spring changes. I lost the recoil plug around 11K on mine. It launched down range never to be found again.
