Thia thead got me wondering. Say Auther waa going to buy a pistol from me. Can I drive up to a FFL in Michigan and have it transfered to him that way? It would avoid a lot of shipping costs.

This is what I was told in the last month. I was talking a gun trade with a man in Ohio. I was willing to drive to his location and meet at his FFL's address. We could compare and decide. Then I and he would turn over what we brung to his FFL. Same as me shipping mine to his FFL. His FFL would transfer mine to him. His FFL would ship his to my FFL in Indiana. My FFL would transfer his to me in Indiana. It all seemed enough of a hassle to not do.

Let me put my foil hat on for a minute: How do you know it isn't the BATF offering to buy your out of State gun, "Oh we don't need to do all that FFL junk?" Or with my foil back on the left-overs: How do you know it isn't some straw buyer for a gang banger in Chicago, "Oh we don't need to do all that FFL junk?"
