I’m venturing into some fanciness and upgrading my patrol rifle with a free float handguard, wanting to extend my support arm some and be able to get some solid mounting for a light. In the pursuit of this, I picked up a Spike’s Dissipator upper, which utilizes a mid length gas tube and low profile gas block, and a faux pinned FSB and handguard retaining cap.

The question is, should I strip this assembly and install my rail or should I not mess with the “classic” nature of the once sought-after Spike’s Dissy Upper? It has some love on it, but is it as loved as it once was?

Second question - who can help me do it?! LOL
