Mine is my Walther G22 rifle. It has a justifiably horrible reputation for a number of reasons.

First is that it is a real PITA to clean, with some really small springs that want to fly out and get lost. Not much can be done about that, I try not to clean it too often.

Second is that it came from the factory with a real light-weight trigger bar that flexes. The result is a mushy trigger at best, at worst it just simply would not fire at all. Fortunately, it was a pretty simple fix to beef up the trigger bar. It solved the problem and made the trigger pull pretty decent.

Another issue is that when you are putting it back together after cleaning it you have to be careful not to tighten the stock screws too much. If you do, the magazines will bind and cause feeding issues. It's not at all hard to do it right, but you do have to be aware of it.

Finally, it was originally designed for standard velocity ammo and does not like hi-velocity .22lr. Runs great with standard velocity though.

Nonetheless, it balances great, is light, and is remarkably accurate. It's just plain fun to shoot and it goes to the range with me nearly every trip.

Anybody else got something that you just love in spite of the known issues?

I have one of the first Kimber Pro Carry models. Made in 1996 I believe, long before the series II guns. Kimbers are polarizing guns, but this one has never given me any issues and had always been a joy to shoot.

SPAS-12, has all kinds of a reputation about things. Most people say it won't run bird shot in semi-auto, but I've had no issues running Walmart el-cheapo bird shot, if the gun is kept clean.

Not 100% sure its a horrible reputation as most who have shot them like them, but i love my HiPoint carbines. Accurate, reliable, and real fun to shoot.
I think most the haters have never shot one and just dont like the way they look.

Ok, don't give me slack for it....but i love my Jiminez T380. I shoot it all the time, very accurate little gun. I have just recently had my first problem with the gun in the past 4 yrs i have owned it ( was a safety spring) and there customer service was awesome and sent me the parts for free.

Jimineze JA-9. While I don’t actually own one because I learned about Ring of Fire Guns years ago, ( the hard way) I always thought it would be cool to carry one in a drop leg holster with my CC Badge on my belt to amplify just what Badass really is.
Did have the HiPoint 995 and never a problem with it other than cheek slap but Customer Service was outstanding.

Underwood M1 Carbine. Fun to shoot, no malfunctions, but those duel recoil springs are a pain in the rear to put back in after disassembly.

Kahr Auto Ordnance 1911. Bad rep from past company owners ( before Kahr). Every once in a while it stops about 1/8th inch from bein in battery an needs a bump or slight thumb push to seat. It's mine, I love it, I shoot it well.

The Hi Point C9. Back in the day, when Richard, Trottinette, and I would stand guard over the retail athletes of the Chatte Puante mall and casino, in lovely Cacao de Gato, Florida, we depended on our C9s for our very lives.

We knew we could depend on them 100%, and even insisted that Mundgeruch Corporation, the owners of the mall, make Hi Point our official duty weapons.

Ah! What heady days those were! We three stallions, cruising along on our Segways...

My P83 Wanad, paid 200 for it.
Much more accurate than my eyes are. Have 1500+ rounds thru it with zero failures of any kind.

I think the closest I have to a gun with a "bad" reputation is a .30 carbine Ruger Blackhawk I inherited. The bigger caliber versions get all the love, but I love this one.

I have a 9mm HiPoint rifle and I love the thing, it eats any ammo I put through it, including my 15 yr old sons first batch of reloads, he is still on his learning curve but the HiPoint doesn't seem to mind at all, don't get me wrong its not a prized gun in the safe, but it has earned its place.

I mean I have a new production Smith and Wesson Model 41 that wont run for **** does that count? Pretty gun however
Saw a guy at Point Blank about a week ago struggling with a "new" 41.. For the price a 41 should run flawlessly.
Not a pariah where guns are concerned but I enjoy shooting my glock 38 (45 GAP) and my 22 TCM, Neither are very popular but both very effective and too much fun to shoot.

Taurus M82, the Smith M10 clone.

It's a Taurus. It was dirt cheap, $170 not counting my 10% Galyan's discount.

I am floored by the bang for the buck that I have gotten out of it over the decades.

I would add Interarms imported Rossi's to that mix....Amazingly accurate and reliable revolvers for the money...I had a little mid 70's nickel .32 s&w long in here that I regret letting go...Perfect tackle box gun....

I want to love my Walther CCP but too many issues with both engineering and execution. It's great to hold and conceals easily.
R51 I would but my hand are too big (and have slide-bite scars to prove it)
Para P14-45 kinda counts since their reputation dropped (after mine was made)
HK P7 people either love or hate them. I love it in spite of the slide-bite scars.

AMT Automag II. It has a reputation for being picky on ammo, but mine runs great with many different brands of high powered 40gr ammo or the 50gr Federal load. It is an absolute tack driver and the big fireball and muzzle blast with no recoil are a lot of fun.
