    Hear me out.

The purpose of this event to get unwanted firearms off the streets.

1-We can organize with local PD. INGO writes down the make, model and any serial number found for all guns bought. That list will be handed over to PD. If any firearms are stolen, those firearms will be given to the PD. All other firearms will remain the property of the INGO person who bought it. We ask the PD to refrain from attending the event as the goal is to allow people to feel comfortable handing over firearms they may not know the history of. Tell the public no Officers will be at the event, but all stolen and dangerous firearms will be handed over to the PD at the end of the event.

2- Make it known all firearms with a historical significance to the collecting community will be the property of firearms collectors. Museum quality pieces will be placed on display at the appropriate place.

3-IF THE SELLER CAN PROVIDE AN ID = Broken, damaged guns $20, Modern low cost firearms $40, modern standard handguns $50, modern single, bolt and lever action rifles $50, Semiauto Rifles $75

4- IF THE SELLER CANNOT PROVIDE AN ID = Broken, damaged guns $10, Modern low cost firearms $15, modern standard handguns $20, modern single, bolt and lever action rifles $25, Semiauto Rifles $30

I am sure we can get a few dozen of us to commit to a day hanging out with $100+ for a chance to buy an unwanted gun or two, or three.

Rules would be simple. If multiple people want to buy the firearm in question, you drop your name in a hat. someone pulls the name out that person gets to buy it. There is NO auction or bidding war.
If guns are brought that no one wants to buy we will establish a pool and use that money to buy the firearm. It will be like an entry fee, say ....$25.All bought firearms are placed in holding with a tag to show whos gun it is. After the PD clears the gun, you get to take it home.

all unwanted firearms will be turned over to police for destruction.

You may be better off finding a group of people to do this with you.
I'm no lawyer but I cant see how this would be beneficial for the actual owners of ingo to have their name and liability on it.
Not that members wouldn't have good intentions but there are nutbags on the left that would literally do illegal acts and crazy things to sabotage this sort of event.
They use lies and so the truth that good gun owners exist and people wouldn't be slayed by these evil weapons which gun owners bought legally, just wouldnt fit their agenda and they would do anything to prevent it.

    In my humble opinion

I like the fact that a gun owner is thinking outside the box. I bet there are thousands of unwanted firearms that should be gotten off the streets. The "gun community" solving a problem instead of the government, what a concept!

The website is a place for Indiana Gun Owners to converge. This is a community with a strong attachment to lawful purpose. Would you say the same thing if I were suggesting INGO create a booth to help feed homeless children? What about INGO creating a Booth to match pregnant teens with people wanting to adopt and then open this Booth across from a Planned Parenthood clinic? How is this a bad thing?

I think your problem is with guns... You believe them to be evil... me suggesting members are allowed to keep them must be a bad thing. Why else would you twist this into a bad thing? Only far left liberals feel all gun owners are bad. Most liberals I know are happy and content with my firearm ownership. Most liberals dont care about my guns...they care about the guns in the hands of people who are not focused on safe guarding it. What a criminal does against an act of kindness doesn't negate that act of kindness.

Its the same way with the 1st Amendment and Porno. 90% of the Conservatives I know say they dont agree with porno being so readily available online and want to see that access shut down. Only 10% want the 1st Amendment over turned because of porno. If INGO was INCP.. (Indiana Christian People)... and I suggested we put a booth together trying to stop websites from disseminating sexual content to children, would a person saying rapist and perverts could disrupt it, so its a bad idea hold any validity? Thats exactly what you are saying.

Getting guns off the street is a good thing. Getting that gun out of the hands of a person who lacks the resource to safely house and store it is a good thing. Putting that gun in the hands of a person who will guard it as best they can is a good thing.

100 guys pooling $25 each = $2500 could = as many as 250 illegal guns out of the hands of criminals. I am sure the number would be less, but again, how is this a bad thing INGO wouldnt want to be a part of?

Why is it ok for Churches to set this up and Not INGO
    ?

I thought some INGO members have done a "buy back" of sorts? Well, more like set up across the street from a church-sponsored event, and offered better prices for the better firearms.

Not legal advice, but I see no reason at all why any group can't do it. It's not really much different than having a gun show, except that nothing is for sell.

There have long been groups that travel the country, and set up similar purchasing operations at hotels for military items, including guns. They usually purchase advertising in newspapers, you may have seen the ads before.

The problem you are going to have is getting all of the free advertising the media provides to the anti-gun groups that do it. You would more likely have to deal with some negative coverage discouraging potential sellers.

I just went there to sell rubber bands as bump stocks . . . and to bother rhino.

I was successful in bothering rhino (all I had to do is show up); the antis did not buy my rubber bands.

You do realize the Ingo can not and will not gt involved in something like this. The ramifications are more than the site wants to even consider.

I will close this thread. We are not and will not gt into this in open forum please.
