So I've been thinking about building an AR pistol as a trunk/backpack gun for when I travel or am out riding the Mule on backroads. It'll likely take the place of my 20" AR as my go-to gun. I was shopping around different sites and stumbled across this. It seems to have everything I'd need, sans lower and optic. I'd like to upgrade a few of the lower parts (trigger, pins, safety, etc) but I can swap them out with the ones on my current gun and I'd likely throw a KX3 or KX5 on the end of the barrel and move my Comp M4s from the 20" over, at least until I save up for an LPVO. My questions are as follows:

How "duty grade" is a DSG duty grade upper? Would you be willing to bet your life on one?

Any other ideas/critiques related to this plan?

Any lowers you'd recommend that don't cost big money? I haven't had any problems with the Anderson lower that my 20" is built on and I can buy one locally here at Rural King. It used to be that "a lower is a lower" but has anything changed in regards to Anderson?

    Thanks!
