Well, this won't be good. I can't think of anyone who would buy Savage and not make a mess of it. The article doesn't seem to mention if the company is not making money or such, and if they already own other firearms brands then why divest from this particular brand?

    Trivia:
When Arthur Savage sold his company he moved to California and made tires.

Maybe Vista thought he made fires and believes it is time to sell...

Since Ruger began in 1948 they have never gone into debt. The recent surge in their stock allowed a recent upgrade in machinery. I'm not sure they would have any "need" to abandon their history to get what from the Savage line?

Remington wanted to soak up everything around them, that didn't turn out too good. I expect Ruger will stay home on this one. New blood may have a chance...

I would be down with Ruger picking up Savage. Maybe Savage can teach them how to install a decent ******* trigger in their rifles.

While they are at it they can also teach them quality control. When finished with Ruger they can teach Remington, Marlin, And Smith and Wesson.
