Indiana resident, Joe, buys ammo at cabelas in Indiana.
Joe then visits his friend, Tom at Tom's house in Illinois.
Joe sells Tom the ammo he got at cabelas.
Tom has an FOID card from IL btw.
IANAL, but as far as I know FOID = GTGO.
Tom can purchase at Cabela's himself (must show FOID)
Tom can purchase at a gunshow (must show FOID)
Tom can purchase online (must send copy of FOID)
I see no reason why Tom can't buy it from an individual if he has a FOID.
Is it common for retailers close to the border to ask for ID? Being an old fart in training, I haven't been carded for ammo for a while, though they do ask for a birthdate occasionnally.
every time ive bought ammo in indiana i was asked for ID.
typically at cabelas in hammond the 1st thing they ask is if i'm an IL or In resident.
this morning the cashier simply asked for an ID. all she entered was my birthdate
i noticed a sign in walmart on wed that you must be 21 to buy any ammo.
FWIW walmart has the cheapest price ive found locally for federal auto match,
calelas has again dropped the price $3 on bricks of augila super extra
