Commission member Max Schachter, whose son was killed in the shooting, cast the sole dissenting vote. He said he’s heard from teachers who are opposed to the policy, and he said the commission should consider alternatives, such as hallway smoke cannons that would make it difficult for the killer to see.

Why do so many people hate children, and want to protect evil people from harm?

Smoke will do NOTHING to someone bent on hurting others. It will make escape from the attack more difficult, and make LE entry into the building more dangerous. This is a terrible idea.

If you do not want to do what is necessary to protect others, stand aside so someone with the fortitude can.

The report stressed the need for greater communication among agencies and adjusting privacy laws for information to be shared. Between the time Cruz was 3 years old in January 2002 and the time he was 19 years old in January, there were 69 documented incidents where Cruz threatened someone, engaged in violence, talked about guns or other weapons or engaged in other concerning behavior, according to the report.

Keep treating the symptom instead of the disease? Prevention rather than medicine or surgery. This ain’t no different.

Well, if "talking about guns or other weapons" is a criteria...

I expect that this will be sadly ignored because it does not support the dis-armament agenda.

“This was the most preventable school shooting that I’ve ever seen data on,” he said. “This kid was screaming for help by publishing his intentions.” - This is all that report needed to say.

The perpetrator was well known to law enforcement and the school. They choose to ignore the issue. Children died for Federal funding, literal blood money.

    Near the big river.
The last part that says the chief had "personnel" failures that weren't his fault got me. Also he needed to maintain command and control of situations, which should mean he is RESPONSIBLE for the outcome.

    Beyond self serving BS.........

    .
Just going through some reports from this shooting.
I still can't get over how blatantly "Superior" the Sheriff thinks he is.

Why is Sheriff Israel still in power?.... of anything? :dunno:

“Deputies make mistakes,” the sheriff said on the program, “State of the Union.” “Police officers make mistakes. But it’s not the responsibility of a general or the president if you have a deserter.” Sheriff Israel added: “you don’t measure a person’s leadership by a deputy not going in.”
I’ve given amazing leadership to this agency,” he said.

This needs to be shouted from the mountain tops.

The school killed those children because they needed the federal teat.
Those who accuse gun owners of having the blood of children on their hands for peacefully exercising their rights need to be reminded of this every time.

Want to know how much a child's life is worth? Divide the federal funding that the school received by the number killed in this eminently preventable attack.
