    Yes it would have to be a Quick shot so yes. Not really anything behind us but still I do not like the whole stray round idea.

    .410bore and buckshot, but a single projectile would be more precise.
    Any decent .22 will do the job.

    Might even try a nice springer pellet gun.
    I have a .22cal break-action pellet gun that I bet would dispatch a fox. If not, it would sure deter it...

    Although I haven't had the occasion to go on the offensive against predators so far, I bought a .17hmr for the purpose since the lightweight high velocity bullet will fragment into tiny pieces upon hitting anything and therefore has minimal risk of finding its way anywhere it would not want it.

    I wouldn't count on deterring one for long.

    Do you keep goats full time? If you do, you should look into getting a guardian dog for them.

    Yes we are growing our heard, i have seen a few guard dogs in action. I think this may be the best solution. We have a Jackass, for the ones out back and out of sight. He does a.great job, but i dont know that there is enough room for him up front.
