I currently have a Remington 700 SPS Tactical. I wish to thread the barrel for a muzzle break and later possible a suppressor. Is this something that can be done in a lathe as any machinist can turn and cut threads; or are there special techniques and process to do this right? I am a machinist with some experience and I have the ability to turn and cut threads for this. Any help or info from someone who has done this would be appreciated. Thanks

If you have the know how to indicate off the bore there is nothing special about the threads, except the shoulder and threads need to be perfectly square to the bore. there is more then one way to do the indicating, I would be glad to offer advice if you need it.
