When did the party of JFK go from being, "Ask not what your country can do for you..." to what would you like your government to do for you today?

I have asked several people this. They have no answer.

The speed of socio/political change recently has been amazing. Things are taking place that I never would have imagined and I am certainly not alone in this viewpoint. I hate to be a naysayer, but I can't see any good way out of the current situation. Arguments, lack of consensus of opinion, both parties are continuing to suffer from the same ailment.

The liberals are climbing all over themselves in an attempt to "stand out". Who didn't see that coming? The next four months ought to be interesting. July 13, 2020 is when things get REAL interesting. My hope is that the Socialist-Left implodes due to over-promising and under-delivering.

I seek true leadership, a decision maker, decisive opinions and goals. I look for someone to make the difficult decisions to tell people that life is a struggle, not everyone is going to get what they want and nobody is entitled to anything but the God given rights that they were born with. Maybe I would like to see the pursuit of what a small group of men tried to establish in a new government long ago.

Unfortunately, anyone willing to take such a stand today will be seen as a dictator, probably racist and xenophobic...deplorable even.

In such times of confusion it seems nearly impossible to decide just what the truth really is. Sometimes you don't know until it is too late. I fear it is too late.

Wow, that sounds like a terrible way to end a post. So, make the most of what you can, love and cherish those close to you, enjoy the blessings God has given to you and I wish you all the best day possible.

Heck you believe the Libertarians are a real option. I am OK with that. This is still a free country.
Fox, Mexico's first opposition party president, was elected in 2000, defeating the revolution party. There were some small uprisings. I told my wife if someone was going to attack us, it would be from within. Unrelated, but along the same lines, 2 weeks later 911 happened. And now their ideologies are in seats of power. Need I see Never Forget.

True, they are patient, slowly chipping away our rights, because we're not going to give them up all at once. But we're willing to give them up a little at a time.

I would be happy to vote out all the D's, R's and I's that vote to infringe, BUT the problem is that we don't have the choice to "vote out any politician that votes to infringe".

We only have the choice to vote FOR a single candidate for each office.

Voting for the lessor of two evils is our only choice once we step up to the voting machine.

The effort to make a change has to happen before the vote by working to get acceptable candidates moved forward in the system.

FWIW, in my opinion, all is lost for us unless we can make a change in our school systems and get them to teach history instead of being indoctrination centers for the extreme left.

Yes. But for who to replace them. They are so deeply entrenched with a lazy under/no informed following that getting them out is the real issue. And then replace them with what...???
Have we all seen what the left is putting out there.....OMG WTF. Thats just the left. But again POTUS is not the total of the problem. The real problem is rooted much deeper in the rabbit hole. A judiciary willing to "Make" law from the bench not "Use" law as written. Alphabet agency's that bend and twist the law to fill their coffers and punish. Bureaucrats that we do not elect pushing agendas we are not aware of.

This rabbit hole is very deep.

My high school history books were not accurate.
News was reported accurately, but the history books were propaganda. They are public schools, funded by us, through the hands of the propaganda machine.

I like some of the things the libertarian party stands for, but they have zero chance of ever getting in as a party. Ive always thought they would do much better as a "faction" of the republican party, kind of like the democratic socialists have done with the democratic party. If we have evn a small chance to turn things around, it will be slow steps like that. Eventually the SCOTUS is going to have to rule definitively on the 2A.
