Wish i had planted a garden this spring. Time to check into mail order food. As quick as they all banned open carry it will be concealed carry next. Then signs with the force of law will follow.

Just got the email below after I thanked them for not jumping on the sheep bandwagon. Feelings versus security.

Thank you for contacting Meijer regarding our Gun Policy. We apologize for the frustration this may have caused you. We value your opinion and welcome your feedback so that we may continue to improve your shopping experience.

The safety of our customers and team members is our top priority, so we respectfully request that our customers do not open carry firearms at Meijer. We've made this decision because open carry can create an environment that makes our customers and team members feel unsafe.

Thank you again for taking the time to write, and for shopping with Meijer. We appreciate your business and hope we will have the opportunity to serve you in the future.

Sincerely,

I OC and CC there depending on the day's activities. I guess I'll wait until I'm approached by management to alter my routine up here.

Just the beginning folks, I bet you see plenty of this in the future, legislation too.
Remember when people could smoke just about anywhere.
CC for now if you can, protect yourself at all times.

I always CC anyway so not a big deal to me. Now if they have “rule” of no weapons in the store, well that’s a rule that will be broken.

The first part of your reply is part of the problem not part of the solution. "It doesnt effect me" Dont think for a minute that because it doesn't effect you at the moment it wont in the future.
We all need to stand together. This is how they do it. They pull one tooth at a time until all of a sudden there are no more teeth to pull.

I also heard (on WTHR this morning) that Aldi has also jumped on the CC only bandwagon. It's spreading like wildfire...

Look at it this way fellas. Lawyers are involved. CYA is in full swing. This is a major CYA move as they feel it is an extra blanket of protection when bad stuff happens and the law suits start up. And they will.

They seriously believe they are pandering to a large majority. And as to the squeaky wheel they are.
