    The vast majority of mine are unloaded. In the safe, the 3-4 pistols I carry regularly are loaded with extra mags. Couple loaded rifle mags on the side, NOT inserted in a rifle. Home defense guns outside the safe are loaded as well. So all comply with rule #3 as the defensive arms are "in use".

    I follow it all the time. After the last cleaning I loaded my Glock, put it in my holster, and I was ready to use it. At night I put it in it's special spot in the side drawer and I'm ready to use it.

    All my firearms are loaded. The ones in the safe have nothing in the chamber of course for safety reasons. That is a no brainier I would think.
