This is the thought behind the post, I'm assuming

    $800 each weekly, so $1600

    $1600
    × 52
    =$83,200.00

    Just helping him out

But like posted above, the extra $600 per week doesnt last for the whole year, so it definitely wouldn't be that amount

    OK.

What happened to the time when people saved for a financial crisis, yes people lost jobs, but that happens everyday, as to unemployment why give extra 600 dollars a week, at other times people laid off or lost there k
job was expected to deal with it with the normal unemployment. It is all a socialist agenda, give you a taste of the free stuff, then they hook you into socialism, then your country fails and you have nothing at all, is this what you all really want? not me, we haven't changed our filing as we pay taxes every year, i am retired and not drawing SSI as i am not old enough too, saved a lot of money to retire early, and am doing fine, did not lose anything in my 401k this time around kept it all in safe havens. I am sure there are those will argue my points, but look at the whole picture and you will see our politicians are failing us, and the left is taking control where they can!!!!

Sorry if this seemed to fall on deaf ears. I hear ya and I agree.

As soon as the Gub'mint started handing out the free bread the people started losing their indignation with big government.

As far as personal responsibility and saving money for the bad times...everybody has an excuse.

I want to know how many people are saving the extra money for when it runs out instead of living the high life.

On a better note, I have two other tenants that are using the $1200 per person money to pay back rents or deposit money. That makes me feel a little better about society even though I still think it's a mistake to hand all that money out.

Honestly, I don't even know if I would consider it the high life. How many people can't pony up $600 cash in the event of an emergency? Sixty some-odd percent?

People will be spending that money in an attempt to maintain the course. Is that really the high life? I bet many don't think so.

What grinds on me is how many people scoff when asked if they have six months of reserves (includes rent/mortgage, utilities and food, transportation) expenses in the bank.

Most folks act as if it is an impossibility.

Will this situation change their minds? Nope.

How can or why should anybody save money when you can't take it with you and there are so many things to buy?

Enjoy the welfare. Soon to have $20 loaves of bread the way our Government is spending and printing dollars. The value of the dollar is getting lower and lower every time they do this. We might soon be cashing in dollars for Venezuelan bolívars if this kind of spending is the new normal.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
