Ruger mini 30 owners

Was thinking about getting a mini 30. Does it cycle well with steel case. Or is it more finicky wanting brass?

My personal experience is mine runs just fine with either. I have a red dot and it is more than adequate for my needs on the homestead.

Mine works fine with steel case ammo. That's all I shoot in it.

I seem to remember that mini 30’s have a .308 bore, and there are some accuracy issues since most Russian stuff is actually .311. I don’t know if this is an issue with newer guns though.
