    I just saw an article on the new Rossi, Rio Bravo lever action rifle in 22 lr caliber and it quickly cam to mind that it might make a terrific companion to the Ruger, Wrangler and it looks like you could get both of them for maybe $500.00 or less.
    It would make a great outfit for the younger set or anybody looking for a day of fun.

    I'd probably go with the Henry Classic 22lr. I've seen them at my lgs for $275 + the governor's fee. You could get it and a Wrangler for right around $500.

    I"ve got several Taurus 22s, and I'd be hard pressed to get this one when you can get a Henry (which I also have) for not much (if any more). I also recommend the Henry, even at a 25% premium.
