I am needing some info on a 220 Swift rifle and scope. The receiver is stamped with Winchester and the barrel is stamped with Flaig's and 220 swift. The scope is marked Junerl and is floating with an external spring for recoil. Any info would be greatly appreciated. It is in near perfect condition if anyone know's an approximate value. Thanks

The 220 Swift is a fantastic cartridge in its place. Pushing a 55 gr. Sierra MK @ close to 3800 fps it is death to varmints out to 500 or so yards. Yes, I know this for a fact.

As for the optics I believe you are looking at a J. Unertl externally adjustable riflescope. In there time, they along with Redfield were the finest precision optics available to us.

    Please show us the rig!

I suspect the scope says "Unertl". What power is the scope?
It's an old rig circa 1950's & 1960's. Flaigs was a supplier like Herrera was. Value varies, I'm sure others will chime in. Was probably an old school ground hog rifle.

    More info

I have attempted to reply with some pics. If a computer was a gun I’d never hit the target so if it doesn’t work I’ll try again. The top of the scope has a twelve on it so I’m assuming it’s 12 power. The gun and scope weight just over 14 pounds and it is just over 46” in length.

I have shot it to check function. It belonged to a friend of mine that passed away. It is not my decision, but my guess is it will be offered for sale. I'd love to have it, but it is nowhere within my budget.

Dang, sorry to hear about your friend.
Let us know if it comes up for sale, I have a bunch of ammo built, and more brass and bullets. I have done dumber things!
