This is really getting ridiculous with all this “panic” er “stupidity” buying. Hey I’ll sell my Mosin Nagant that I bought for $79 15 years ago for only $750 today only? Any takers? LOL!

Holy geez, I have one new in the box too, a Norinco un fired, not a thumb hole or parts kit, the real deal I got in the early 90’s.
I don’t remember what I paid for it.
I think I will wipe it down next weekend.
    Takes Chinese 30 rd mags.
Wood stock and pig sticker bayo, green sling and plastic oil bottle.

To be fair this is an SKS-M.. They are always more desired and rarier

My bet is the unfired nature of the gun drove the price..

a couple after this settled down in the more normal 1 k range..

And even less common in a non-thumbhole stock. But yeah, crazy. I gotta think it is less panic and more eccentric buying. i mean, an SKS-M is cool but no way near better for a defensive rifle than an AK.

I bought one for $69 sold it for $200 back in the 90's. Could not hit the broad side of a barn at 100 yards with it. Total junk. Maybe it was just a lemon. But it was not worth $69 back then. They advertised it as a SKS Paratrooper back then.

"..... but I overpaid for mine.."

But only you need to know that, to ones spouse and friends we say

"Got this for a hell of a deal (while hiking up the belt Barney Fife style)... The guy did not know crap.. gave it away".

Oh yeah we all know your lying.. but no one will call you on it because we all know we will need the same lie in the future.

I think it is worth every penny. Which is why it would be foolish not to buy the one I have listed in the INGO classifieds for a mere $450. :)

The cheapest I use to buy SKS for was $49 and get a free case of ammo with them. AK's were $59 with the ammo.

Down south the hardware stores had barrels of Mosins for $25 and K98s for $35.

About 10 years ago I bought a pair of Polish M44s for $60.

My home defense pistol is a high capacity Russian made Makarov in .380. I bought in in the late 80's when they had to put an adjustable sight on them to import as "sporting". Got the pistol, 2 mags and a holster for $85.

Back then we never put any thought to the concept of them drying up.

Never thought you couldn't go to any hardware store and buy all the .22lr you wanted on a whim just to go shooting. A penny a shot was what the hardware stores sold them for or $4.50/brick.

But I would have to mow 1.5 yards to get that $4.50...
